DJ Vastrap has been behind the decks since 2010 — over a decade and a half of reading a crowd, building a night, and making sure nobody sits still for long. No genre is off-limits: sokkie and vastrap, pop, rock, Afrikaans, dance, oldies — the set is built around the people in the room, not a fixed playlist.
Beyond the DJ booth, Vastrap has shared the mic with various artists, and is a regular face on the fairway running entertainment for golf days. Vastrap is also one half of the 2-piece band Buur-Man as the drummer, bringing live music into the mix alongside the DJ sets. From weddings to corporate functions, markets to karaoke nights, the approach stays the same: full energy, full involvement, from the first song to the last call. Influences range from 80s, Pop and Country to Local music and Hip Hop — a setlist built to read the room, not follow one.
